Here are the modern Kite City 2010-2014 planning in Weifang, China by Neil M. Denari Architects.Weifang is a special city in China. Not only is well known for the story of its handicrafts such as paper cutting and New Year pictures is the most important city in the world for kite flying and the history of kites. For over two thousand years the people of Weifang appreciated the joy of seeing these colored objects flying in the fast wind in the region of Shandong in northern China. Weifang city is developing a 290,000 meters square, composed of mixed use residential and commercial towers with a series of mixed-use tower 150 meters tall, which anchors the southwest corner of the site. The organization of the massing responds to the client’s instructions to the iconic tower in the park with a world of support for housing and shopping around. Influences of Landscape: The River Bailang became over the years a place central to the interaction of people and an increase in real public space for Wiefang. We see our project along the river to promote this cause through a public, open network that allows both the flow of pedestrians and vehicles around the site. Moreover, the river and the mountains are reflected in the buildings blue and green light, giving a fresh look for the site, a place that is welcoming and open. Urban Design: The arrangement of buildings is based on the traditional orientation of north and south units (as required by the brief). Each residence building has rooms with floor using only four units per floor. With strategic planning, we have deployed a large amount of mass at the site in a way that respects the light, views and social space. It is our hope that this site will promote new forms of urban life in Weifang. now check the Kite City Planning with picture below:
